A Beloved Companion for Pretend Play

A Small Wooden Robot Children Grow Attached To
Play is simple and open-ended—talk to him, take him on little outings, or let him rest nearby while you sleep.
Coming home to a friend who belongs only to you can be a comforting and joyful experience for a child.
Solitary play is an important part of a child’s development.
By talking to themselves, imagining stories, and creating relationships with toys,
children expand their inner world.
Simply having Little Robot nearby helps spark imagination and creativity.
Small Body, Thoughtful Movements

“Why do his arms move when I turn this?”
Moments of curiosity like these are valuable learning experiences.
Little Robot uses simple wooden mechanisms and string to create movements that invite exploration.
He is also designed to be sturdy and repairable, so he can be enjoyed for many years.

Pulling his ear stretches a rubber cord, creating a gentle, springy movement.
The soft resistance and motion are enjoyable even for small hands.

Turning the wrench on his tummy requires just a little strength,
making it well suited for children around age two.
Each turn creates a satisfying clicking sound.
Parents and children can enjoy playful conversation,
imagining they are giving the robot “energy.”

Little Robot is not battery-powered and does not move on his own.
Unlike electronic toys that act at the push of a button,
he responds only through interaction.
That need for engagement keeps play fresh and meaningful.
Good toys are “materials that allow change”—
and that is what makes play last.

A Friend at Home, Not Just a Toy
Little Robot becomes more than a plaything.
Unlike TV characters with fixed personalities,
he can be anything a child imagines.
He quietly joins daily life, becoming a companion for both children and parents.
We believe that toy makers help children make friends,
and truly good toys stay close rather than being quickly forgotten.

How Little Robot Is Made
Each part is carefully cut, assembled, and polished by hand.
We use a variety of Japanese hardwoods, including zelkova, horse chestnut, oak, cherry, and beech,
selected for their individual beauty and character.
Hardwood logs aged 70 to 150 years are sourced from Gifu Prefecture.
They are dried naturally for over a year before further processing.
Only after this careful preparation is the surface shaped
to reveal fine grain and a soft, natural finish.
The final coating alone takes more than 48 hours.
Why so much care?
Because we want to share the beauty of Japan’s forests in their natural state.
No artificial coloring is used.
Since all processes—from sourcing to production and sales—
are handled entirely in-house,
we can stand confidently behind the safety and quality of each piece.

A Gentle Companion That Grows with Your Child
Little Robot offers a calm and comforting presence for children.
Unlike many modern robots that are loud or action-driven,
he encourages quiet, thoughtful play.
Children naturally imitate what they see,
and gentle toys help foster gentle relationships through everyday interaction.
He also supports the development of empathy and kindness.
Through quiet play, children explore emotions,
expand their imagination, and form meaningful connections.
These experiences help nurture values
that are important for healthy emotional growth.
Although he never speaks,
children love talking to him.
One parent shared that their child never goes out
without holding Little Robot close.
In a world filled with plastic and electronic toys,
a simple wooden robot like this remains something rare and special.
